Or games that should be online.
Being a broadband-less peasant I have lots of offline loneliness to enjoy, and so the mind wonders.

Just throw a few ideas around - what game would be good.

I was thinking a flying game would rule.
Not just everyone vs. everyone dogfights, which would probably be pretty good. But co-operative with a whole squadron of jets using the headset.
'Twould be very cool, I basing most of this on Ace Combat 4 (which rules). Working as a team together and specialising your team for bombing or dogfights - assigning roles out so you can bomb out targets without and enemy jets on your tail. Against a computer it would be fun, and against another human team just brilliant.

Your ideas?

It all sounds good on paper, but once you get online you realise that co-op and tactics mean jack all. You'll have a load of cocksure Americans on your team who will either shout at you for not doing things right or just shoot you for the hell of it.

An idea...

Freefall jumping out of a plane and everyone has to link up in mid-air. Like sky diving; then pull a zip and coloured gas is released etc. etc...

Much like a dancing game or some other synchronised thingy! Each player has to get in position and your scored on how synchronised you are and the shape made while in the air etc.

How about a Dropship type game where you can load your forces into an APC or Dropship and then carry them to the enemy base and deploy them around it, building turrets to bash your enemy into oblivion, with options for your individual warriors to choose from light/medium/heavy armour and throw in weapons to suit. Then add jetpacks so they not only run about on the ground but can blow each other away mid-air too?

Oh wait... Tribes Arial Assault is coming out...

How about a Quake type FPS but based in the WarHammer 40,000 Universe where you get to play as a Tau Warrior? Complete with a huge array of DeathMatch options including Las guns, rocket launchers, the ability to duck behind objects etc for online mode and a massive offline storymode?

Oh wait... Fire Warrior is already coming out...

How about a Twisted Metal Black type game but with TANKS and JEEPS where you can dash about all over the place with up to 15 other players blowing the bejeezus out of each other, including King of the Hill and Deathmatch options?

Oh wait... Hardware Online Arena is already coming out...

How about a Frequency type game where you not only have to play though a huge single player mode but can go online and remix tracks either by yourself or with other players, then download them to the servers for other gamers to listen to?

Oh wait... Amplitude is already coming out...

How about a Massively Multiplayer RPG type game where you can choose from over 60 mixes of races/classes and then enter a huge world that would take you 3 whole days of gameplay just to walk from one end of the other, where you can complete an unlimited number of quests, join guilds to fight boss monsters, hunt what you want, where you want, when you want, and even fish if the fancy takes you.

Oh wait... EverQuest Online Adventures is already coming out...

How about a driving game?... Gran Turismo 4...

How about a footie game?... FIFA 2004...

How about a golf game?... Tiger Woods 2004...

How about Resident Evil-type game online!!?... Resident Evil Outbreak...

Hurry up and get broadband.

How about a game where you live in a street and be gay little children?

Hang on, My Street. Wow! Let's be gay! I want Destruction Derby the most. Brum brum. And FM. You think Tribes will be good? OPSM2 say it's pants.

I think it'll be pants too, due to no comms making teamwork difficult. Have to wait and see what they change for the PAL version at release time.

Yes, I see what you mean. However, reading the review, the way you can all get into buggies and space ships would be cool. Imagine you flying the thing and crashing it, to have your team mates right have a go. Would be cool.
