Iíve had my system since the price drop to £199.99. And yes I have to say Iím ëstillí pleased, well who wouldnít be, considering the pretty enticing price.
After all what you get is a Gaming system to play some excellent games on and a Portable DVD player that you can carry about the house, if need be.
And thatís just what Iím going to focus on here, the wonderful PS2 DVD player and if it is great or not.
First of all I have to state that the Playstation 2 looks like a piece of hardware that is DVD Video capable, doesnít it? It fits easily alongside your HI-FI system, video or any other Entertainment equipment and it really suits the location.
Regardless of any games that you may play in this machine, it scores huge points for the fact that Sony has created this Unit to be a DVD player that can play DTS and Dolby Digital guaranteeing it to be future proof in the sound department.
In my opinion the DVD player is as good, if not better, then an average £300-£400 consumer-level player. The picture is crisp, bright and clear, and there is nothing wrong with the sound either.
It could possibly replace a DVD player in your home, as long as you donít have a high end player that has features to make people cringe with jealousy that is.
The fact that this game system doubles as a DVD player, it makes it a MUST HAVE purchase, Iím serious, go for it if you donít have one! The £199.99 price tag is tremendous as a double whammy machine, yes you will be pleased in the long run, trust me.
Even if youíre a non-Sony fan, even if you only end up having three or four games for it, letís face it they are not all Nintendo quality I know, but listen-itís easy to justify owning a unit that gives you the ability to watch DVDs on it too at such a snap up price.
Have no scart TV? Donít worry about the system being bundled with a scart cable, have an old Playstation about? Well just use the old PS RF cable to hook up the system to an old television, itís that easy.
DVD has never been so reachable as it is now, thing is and bad news for some, Video rental stores should have less DVD movies to rent, I wonder why?
So he did with that wonderful post there!
