ECW, WCW, WWF
Which federation was the best???

If you think of all the great superstars that have come through ECW then this fed would be the most obvious bet right?????

The list of stars that came through from the fed include, Steve Austin, Lita, Mick Foley, RVD, Tazz, Tommy Dreamer, Paul Heyman, Spike, Buh Buh and D'von Dudley. The list of stars goes on forever.

WCW was set up to go against the great WWF in the 80's. During the 90's it was one man who brought WCW to the top of the wrestling world. His name was Eric Bischoff, and his creation? The nWo.
Although at the beginning it was a great storyline, it just wouldn't have worked if it hadn't have been for the three stars that became the 'Outsiders'. Razor Ramon, Diesel and Hulk Hogan.
To make sure WCW didn't get sued by the WWF Diesel and Ramon went under their own names. Kevin Nash and Scott Hall.
After time this storyline became stale. The nWo was recruiting new WCW stars every week and draining the talent that was to go up against them each and every week.

In the end the storyline failed and the WCW ratings which once were so high dropped. The beneficiaries of that were the McMahons and the WWF.

Vince McMahon saw what was happening to WCW and needed to create a storyline fast. He figured that the only way to draw back ratings was to put himself on television and feud against the WWF champion Steve Williams, better known as Stone Cold Steve Austin.
Over the years Vince's son, daughter and wife have all become well known faces in the WWF ring, they have fought each other and fought alongside each other.

But now wrestling is getting boring, there is no more compitition for Vince to beat. He unknowingly saw the downfall of ECW thanks to getting a TV deal with TNN, ECW's TV station, and when WCW went up for sale he bought them aswell.

The Invasion angle should have been the greatest angle seen in the world of pro wrestling, but, the WWF and the writers messed it all up.
At first WCW was the babyface company going up against the heel company WWF, but that all changed when Booker T threw Steve Austin through the Spanish announcers table.
WWF messed up the WCW Invasion by burying its stars, Shawn Stasiak was made to look like a fool, and now they made idiots out of Test and Booker T by having them job to the Rock in a handicap match.

A few months ago saw the debut of RVD and Tommy Dreamer to the WWF. They beat down some WWF wrestlers with help from Lance Storm and Mike Awesome before Justin Credible and other fromer ECW'ers ran out to (supposedly) make the save for the WWF guys. But then they turned and Paul Heyman came to the ring and gave an amazing promo.

But then the writers messed it up again, the angle became boring, and so people, just switch over channels and watch something better.

Thanks for reading, give me your thoughts on the Invasion angle and tell me whether you think its been great or not great.

Talking about Invasion, at Survivor Series there's going to be a massive final battle between the Alliance and the WWF. Should be JUICY!

Don't believe me? Go to www.wwf.com/television/raw to see!

Yer ECW was not just hardcore. Just watch a tag team match between Mikey Whipwreck & Tajiri Vs Kid kash & Super Crazy. As a matter of fact just buy ECW Guilty As Charged 2001 (the one i reviewed) the tag match in that was superb.

If you ask me, the best fed clearly was ECW. The Invasion storyline could have been great if WCW had kept their old stars, but they didn't sign. In my opinion, ECW as it was could have easily become a third contender, but instead the writers had to form an Alliance.

This has meant that Booker T, RVD and Austin are the only wrestlers in the Alliance people care about. Great ECW superstars such as Tommy Dreamer, Mike Awesome and, to some extent, Justin Credible, are now jobbing on Metal and Heat.

The Invasion angle could have been so much better, but now it has turned into an old, damp squib of a storyline.

Animal Chin - its nice to have someone actually talk about wrestling on these forums.

The Invasion has been a relatively good angle compared to the repetitive tosh the WWF had been throwing at us. However, it has had too much hype.

People have been wanting to see WWF vs WCW for years. It has been every fans fantasy angle - and as it seemed like it was never going to happen, fans could forget all restrictions in thier fantisising and make it the perfect angle.

Now that the impossible has happened, there is no way it could have lived up to expectations.

This said, the WWF has messed it up, as they seem to do with everything. When the WWF bought WCW, the company (WWF) was in the midst of a ratings crash. They had just put on a terrible Taker VS Austin angle, and the wrestling industry as a whole was sufering. In thier desperation, the WWF started the Invasion angle a year before it was ready.

The thing about ECW was that they started off as a hardcore promotion but near the end of the company they weren't as extreme.
They did lots of high spots but were mostly high flying moves or big piledrivers from the top rope.
I'm not saying that ECW isn't hardcore as guys like New Jack and Spike Dudley were always doing insane things, but what I am saying is that ECW drifted from the hardcore vision into a spot fest vision.

Right now the most hardcore fed is XPW. It was only a couple of months ago that one of their wrestlers was burnt so badly in a flaming table match that he had to be in hospital.
Plus the XPW valets are all porn stars

well i beleive its going to get intresting again as Foley is back but the only thing i found boring about Foley is that when he is around there is very few women wrestling in Bra & pantys and so on, so there is very little flesh. but i guess you cant have both!
