Theslammer has to be the worst online store I have ever been to, let alone the worst online gaming store.
I have many a story to tell you about this supposedly 'excellent' gaming store.
I first found this shop on the Internet when I was looking for places to pre-order a PlayStation 2. I found theslammer. They said I would get £30 off my PS2, AND that I would get it before Christmas.
I got an e-mail from them later telling me about my order and that my PS2 would cost £300. Where had my £30 off gone??
Anyway, Xmas came....and went. No PS2. I e-mailed them, they said it would come late January. So January came....and went. Still no PS2. They said I wasn't likely to get it before March. So, I kept e-mailing them for updates, but I never got any replies. Fortunately, I found a PS2 for sale on the shelf in my local Toys 'R' Us, and got one from there.
I e-mailed them to cancel my order. They confirmed it a couple of weeks later.
I checked my bank account a couple of days later and look, £300 HAD GONE FROM MY ACCOUNT!!
Theslamme said when I ordered that they wouldn't take the cash until I'd got it. They'd actually taken the money a few days after I'd ordered it!!
I was livid. I called theslammer, no response. I e-mailed them, threatening to call the police on them, no response. Theslammer have STOLEN £300 from me, and I'm VERY annoyed about it.
Anyway, while I was waiting for my PS2, I ordered Worms Armageddon for PlayStation in the Free games zone. To this day I still haven't got that game.
So I have ordered a PS2 from them, they took the money and I never got a PS2. I ordered a free game, and I never got it.
In my opinion, this is the worst store in the World. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!!!
THe only good thing about this shop is that they sell quite a lot of stuff, but that depends on whether you actually RECIEVE it or not.

I really hate these people who take such liberties ripping people off over the internet.
I had problems with EB recently, the onlyine of the highstreet store who's i won't even bring myself to type.
Thinking 'ohh, rocky boxset dvd', not being able to pick it up on this site (no stock) or in the tiny, miles from anywhere town i live in, i thought instead of waiting a week or two to get to some shops, i'd buy it online, figuring, ok they're a reputable company, shouldn't be any problems.
How wrong i was. They said it was in stock, released in may 01. Sent me order confirmation naming it as a pre-order, expecting to get it in 'may 2001'.
Okay, fair enough. Anyone can make a mistake.
I email them - no response.
I email them again, 'we'll look into it and be in touch when we sort it out'. 2 weeks later, no response.
I email them again, asking them to cancel the order so i can buy elsewhere. No response.
I email them again. Asking them again to cancel my order, mentioning the various 'alternative means' i would take to deal with them (ie, police, their bosses). Get a response, confirming they'd cancelled the order, and they WOULDN'T charge my credit card. I stress 'wouldn't' because wayyy back when they first told me about my preorder they claimed to have already charged my credit card. Which i had told them at every stage of trying to get my order cancelled.
So, it seems more than likely that they've charged me for the damn thing. It's on credit card, so save for some hassle at the bank, i just have to wait for the credit card bill to find out now.
All this because i tried to buy a simple dvd. Which i never even got from them.
I'm pretty sure it's not a scam, the company's a little to well established, unless i'm just naive, but the incompetence of their staff and the blatent disrespect in their just ignoring me on so many occasions is totally out of order.
Suffice to say, i'm never parting with money to those EBitches, online or in person. And i'll do all i can to make sure nobody i know does either.
The moral? Stick with those you trust, i guess.

Aparently one offer theslammer did was for people to get £150 in vouchers back when they ordered a PS2, so effectively you were getting a PS2 at launch for £150. Not bad eh?
Except no one actually recieved their PS2, or if they did, they didn't get their vouchers.
Basically the warning is, BUY ONLINE WITH A CREDIT CARD. That way, if you get stuffed, you can claim back through the credit card company and you don't lose your money.

After many a heated debate, Barclays finally helped to get my money back off them. I'm not sure how they're doing at the moment, but I know many other people on the Internet who have been ripped off by them.

That really stinks! They sound like a right bunch of con artists! Do you have a receipt of your transaction? This could be very important if you want your money back.
