this is part 2 of vid's adventure's
i posted part 1 on sunday- find it if you are interested.

here goes....

Vid rounded a corner and walked straight through an on-coming pedestrian. ìDamn graphical glitches,î he muttered under his breath and his foot fell three inches through the pavement.

He passed a basketball street-court and took a sideways glance at the game, pretty boring, really. There was Michael Jordan sliding easily through the air in a slow-motion replay towards the basket, actually he was going to miss the basket, but jerked sideways at the last moment and slam dunked it perfectly. Then performed some strange celebration dance. Secret characters were always so big-headed.

He walked on passed a small cafe, then doubled back to have a quick drink. It didnít matter what time he showed up for work. As going to work was not a great idea for a game, it was just put into the video-gaming world as an extra to appease the gods, but watching people go to work didnít seem very fascinating to Vid, so he always got there very late in the afternoon.
Actually, on the subject of afternoon: This was a very new thing to every one living there, as real-time days had only just recently been programmed in (something else to please the gaming-gods) and got everyone very confused indeed. What were they meant to do when it got dark? They used to just go to work all day, when it was sunny all the time, but now they were totally lost at what to do. The programmers obviously hadnít thought about everyoneís feelings. How harsh.
Anyway...

Here was Vid standing outside a free cafe (why would they be programmed to have money?) and he felt that he couldnít go in. No, he actually COULDNíT go in. The door was open, he was attempting to enter, but all he could do was walk stupidly on the spot, watching everyone else have their drinks. Another annoying glitch, these programmers were so lazy! All he wanted to do was enter the cafe! Is that so hard?
He clenched his fists and marched onwards to work. Well, he would have marched if he could, but he was only programmed to walk very slowly.

He was starting to bitterly hate the programmers. Theyíd be sorry if they ever showed up near him!

So he walked on (very slowly) to work.....
