When I bought the N64 I knew that it was expensive but because I'd played on a friends I knew it was great so £100 and something went out of the bank but now you can get it for £50! So here's a chart for the best consoles to buy at the right price.
Play Station (PSOne). This console was probably the most popular console for its time, but now it's big brother(PS2)has come out, it has gone down in popularity but you can get a PSOne for £79.99 in any store so you're getting your money's worth 'cause you can get a lot of great games on it. e.g. Rayman. So I say you should get this at Christmas because it might come down, but if moneys not the problem then get it now.
Nintndo 64 (N64). Truly my most favorite console ever. Although the games are pricey they have awesome graphics like Perfect Dark and Goldeneye, so you are definitely buying a treasure. It wasn't as popular as the PSOne but it was great. At £50.00 you can get this for in Woolworths, you should absolutely buy this NOW.
Play Station 2 (PS2). Truly One of the most awesome consoles ever. Although the games are expensive and the console is £200 you are getting a great console. It has come down a lot in price from £300 to £200, so I'm waiting until next Christmas to get this 'cause it will probably have come down another £100, but again if money isn't the problem then get this now. It's worth it.
Game Boy Color (GBC). The most popular hand held console ever. At £50.00 you are getting a miracle. Buy it now!
Game Boy Advance (GBA). Now this is technology. This little wonder is as powerful as the PSOne(32 mega bites)! The games are expensive but imagine playing Mario Kart on the train! With the GBA you can. Add this to your collection now because it has already come down £10. Truly the greatest hand held console of its time.
Nintendo GameCube(NGC). Now this is truly the best console ever. Although it hasn't come out in the UK yet it is so exciting. It is out in Japan now and it will be out over here in the spring. When it comes out, don't wait for the price to come down. But it and enjoy it while it is so popular and make your friends go green with envy!

I don't think the PS2 will come down a whopping £100 by next Xmas. Maybe a few pounds, up to £30 at the most, but unless the GC sells well (it rhymes!), Sony wouldn't be stupid enough to cut their prices again. After all, they are making a loss with every console sold. Or am I just confusing it with the Xbox?
