I hated both my mum’s cars because they were small and my knees were always lodged under the stearing wheel. The KA also has really strange pedals, the accelerator and clutch are really light and the brake is really stiff, the placement of them also means, (because I have big feet) I was pushing the accelerator down a little whilst pushing the brake.
So, here is my car. It’s a Vauxhall Cavalier 1.8 Club; it has ABS, power stearing, metallic paint, alloys and a sunroof. It’s done 78,000 miles and is 8 years old.
Not the prettiest car in the world, but its very good for the money I paid for it. I have yet to drive it, as I need my insurance details to come through so I can get it taxed. It will be interesting to drive having only driven the little 1.0 litre Micra, (I drove the KA once and that was only a 1.3).
I feel I’m forgetting something, oh yes, the links.

Power-steering, anti-lock brakes, a 1.8litre engine and only 78,000 miles on the clock.... Nice one! :)
My escort has none of that. :(
You have power-steering - make sure you use it! :)
I had to change a wheel due to a flat, I haven't driven it anywhere, (due to having no tax), and it has suddenly happened. I have pumped the wheel back up, tested it's pressure and am going to test it again tomorrow to see if it goes down. If it doesn't I will put the old tyre back on, at the moment I have 3 nice shiny alloys, and 1 minging dirty non hub-capped thing.

No, I went next door to nick the badge of their Passat...but it has already been replaced with a Volvo one.
;)
So i just have my car insurance under my mums name. Saves a hella lot of money. Paying £400 @ the moment for fully comp on a Corsa SXi. Would easily be over £1000 if it were in my name.

January.

Shop around. One quote a got was £2,500 third party fire and theft, then I got one from Norwich Union, £950 for the same cover, £90 for full brake down cover.
Originally I tried to get a 205 1.4 Gti, but most insurers said "we wont insure you on that car", the only quotes I found were all over £2,000...the worst was near £3,000!

today?
wee?
Gerrid?
If it's only recently that's gonna be a sod to insure...
