I've lost two inches of screen on the right hand side of my monitor - which makes it impossible to navigate on the net as I've lost the left hand. I've tried all the resizing and stuff like that and nothing is working. Help.

Oh god didn't need to hear that. Bought my PC new 14 months ago. Original monitor got knackered and discovered that it was out of warranty - how convenient. This monitor I borrowed of my flatmate as she is using her laptop. Do you think there is something demonic in my PC which is killing monitors?

Sounds like your monitor tube has had it. If so, you'll need to get it repeaired or get a new one.
