The fact is, if you want a football sim, that is true to the real game, then you want to be getting Pro Evo. Based on the ISS Evo series from PS1, this game is set to be the ,most realistic footie sim there has ever been. The gameplay is the most advanced that you can get, and will truely show how for the game has come from the PS1 series. The main improvment will be the graphics, which is obvious with any game being promoted to the higher console. These graphics add the realism to it too, with many players looking like there real life counter parts. The gameplay is also a huge step up from the last game, Evo 2, with the player acting more realistic than ever, and extra features that you will be able to use. Basicly, this is the GT of footie games.
In the past, fifa has been the arcade version of football games, which was fine, but now more and more people have played ISS and they want realism. EA took no notice of this with 2001 and it was the same as 2000 and the rest of them, only with nice graphics and updated teams. EA now claim that 2002 will be the most realistic version ever. Looking at PSW dvd, it seems that yes, some things have been improved, the ball now seems to act better, and does not curl like paper in wind anymore. The players now seem to act more like the real ones with good runs up the wing and into space, which is also aided with an indecator to tell you when. The graphics too are very good, but i feel that they still look like rubber, but thats a matter of opinion. But the game still has that arcade look to it. The players can control the ball like masters, and every pass is inch perfect. This game is really all about nice touches, things like the linesmen running up the pitch, and the manager and staff fully animated. It also relys on licences, such as club teams and so on, even bilboards on the pitch. I still feel this is very much, and arcade game.
What it boils down to, is what type of game you like, and which game you had grown up with. If you were into Fifa on Mega Drive and PS1, the chances are you will go with this, as its what you know. If you were a nes/snes owner, you will have played the ISS series, and know what it is about, and probally stick to this. If you want full on realism, go for Pro Evo, if you want an easy to play, goal fest game, you want Fifa.
Neither game is bad, both have Pros and Cons, and really it does not matter which one you get. Pick the one you are happy with.
Thanks
> Hand this lad a GAD SR,
Its not that I cant afford to get both I just hate the Fifa games, if gave SR gave me a GAD I would take another game nit Fifa2002.
I am going to stick with Pro Evo,i personally prefer the more realistic appproach to footy games, but thats not to say fifa 2002 will be bad, it bet it will be good, and i will rent it and may even buy, they are both great looking, but Pro Evo just edges it for me, and the gameplay for the ISS has suited me more, my bro loves fifa games better and i love ISS games better, its a hard choice, but in the end its out down to you.
Good Post though
series and so I'm getting Pro Evo.
