Looking for direction?

We would look for a knowledge in C# and SQL databases mainly. The world revolves around Microsoft, so MSSQL Server is the normal standard although a knowledge of MySQL would be useful.

We do quite a lot of interactive web work which is IIS based.

There are two clear lines that commercial work is divided into -

1. Microsoft. C#. IIS. MSSQL
2. Linux. Java. Apache. MySQL.

I'm not saying that one is better than the other. They are just alternatives.

And remember to get decent qualifications. Bits of paper do matter.

Hello ZipZap,

Mind if I pick your brains, so to speak?

Im an Engineer in the RAF and coming to the end of my contract. I would like to return to my first love, Computing.

My ultimate goal would be to be a Project Manager of a Software Development team.

I have set about learning the industry and gaining contacts whom I might be able to share ideas with and develop leads to find out what the industry needs are, and how I can align myself with them.

I enjoy project management and computing and excel at problem solving and logical thinking. I've been a 'IT geek' since the days of my Acorn Electron and ZX Spectrum and have a natural ability in this field, but I am now seeking direction.

If you were looking for a new developer, what would you be looking for? how can I tick the boxes that would meet your companies needs?

Any help or advice would be very gratefully received.

I hope I have introded and taken too much liberty.

If you do have any advice, please contact me at [email protected] or reply here.

Thanks again, hope you have a great weekend.

I have bought a screen protector, i dont know if its the same make as special reserve, my one is made by Blaze. Now in answer to your questions.

Does it reduce reflections? -To a degree yes.
Does it go all bubbly? -Youd better believe it!
Does it make the screen look tacky -Definately
Does it really protect the screen? -Surprisingly yes.

Did Sniper...

A) Realise it was a spelling correction, but cleverly decide to interpret it as if it wasn't, and then write *runs away* because he knew his clever interpretation would be an irritating but amusing joke, and he'd better make himself vanish.

B) Not realise that was a spelling correction, and then reply that nobody was here, and *runs away* at the end to make the statement true, in a slightly less amusing way.

I have my suspicions...
