Yep, we all wish GH a full recovery. However, my view is that he will not return to management. Perhaps he will be employed in a different role at Anfield.

I wonder what will happen in the on-going Robbie Fowler saga now that Thompson is in charge. The two clearly despise one another and Liverpool need to get Fowler to sign a new contract or they must sell him before the end of this season. Otherwise he will be just 12 months away from being a free agent. Liverpool would then lose out in much the same way that Spurs did with Sol Campbell.

The question is: will Liverpool have
> to consider appointing a new manager?

I dont think so - If Houllier is to be out for weeks or even months then there is no better person to leave in charge than Phil Thompson - He is Mr Liverpool through and through and his experience with the club will rub off on the players!!
I think we are in good hands for now!!

I echo your sentiments.
In the press they are saying he will be away from his job for a few weeks, but after major heart surgery, I think it will be months, perhaps even to the end of the season.

The question is: will Liverpool have to consider appointing a new manager?
