I kinda know who to produce a counter in HTML!! But how do I make it so that it shows the usual counter things on screen but, so that it produces a Private STATS page for me only, so I know who has been where and how many times a page has been viewed!!!???

Trust me. Download the scripts and all will become clear!

One more thing:

You should puts the scripts in the directory called "cgi-shl", but when you are writing the URLs that point to them, they actually register as being in the directory cgi-bin.

But I still don't understand why this will give me a private page with my sites traffic stats on it??

Actually... you don't need to rename the pages or put "" on them. Apparently you can do it with an image.

Don't rename the pages. Instead, create a 1 pixel by 1 pixel transparent GIF, and on each page put:

So for example, if your image's reletive URL was "../images/image.gif", you would put on that page.

Ah. Freeola.

Well, from memory, the only script that works without a database is AXS (http://www.xav.com/scripts/axs/). Download it, set it up according to the instructions.

Then, you need to rename each page to have a .php extension instead of a .htm/.html one.

Then, on each of the pages, put "" (obviously replacing the path to ax.cgi) and hopefully that should work.

But that's not all of it.. Do that and come back. You should also test it first.

It's not done in HTML or by Dreamwaver, but by a Script on the Web Server, find one of those (e.g. Freeola) and then Turbo can take it from there :o).

Well, you need a server first. Find one then we'll sort it.

This is absolutely, 100% totally and utterly not possible in HTML. You need to have some form of scripting. Tell me what server you're using and I'll point you in the direction of something useful.
