hmmmmmm Slipknot, not really a fan myself but I know alot of people are.
Music is a wonderful thing, no? But it seems as though sometimes bands (many metal bands inperticular) really try to look the part of their music. Now don't get me wrong, metal music is my favourite kind of music but i really cannot stand a band like Slipknot that dress to impress let's say.
I see it as pathetic that they walk around in masks to look scary etc and they try to make their music scary. Well, it may be scary to non-metal listeners but to people that understand rock music and music in general, there is no composition in their music.
It's a sad fact of today that Slipknot are a trend to any 'wannabe grunger'. You know the type, and they say grunge is not a trend lifestyle......
If there is one thing I know from listening to music it is that Slipknot are a band that really make music noise, bad noise. If there was some texture to the music then I would listen to it, but otherwise, Slipknot are an overrated band.
Unfortunalty, many other nu-metal bands are going down the same route as Slipknot and it works for them in this day. Some of their music may be ok but their image they take to enhance their carrer really is taking music too far.
