A serious post (not done one for ages) but I am curious to know peoples views on this one so if you have time please post your views.

Sony released the eye toy today and going on most of the views it is a lot of fun and looks set to be up there with the fun of having mates and a dance mat.

But the technology behind it means that many future games could use it.

So if games that came out allowed you to combine the use of say the eye toy, lightgun, control pad, headset etc would you feel you would try and make the full use of them or stick to just the control pad?

Also if allowed would you like to use your eye toy (or similar device) to allow other gamers on-line to see you playing or to play against others in a game?

Finally how much would you pay at most for a future console. One that you really wanted and had a great set of release games with it?

Cheers

Exactly what Icarus said.

The EyeToy + Light Gun + Headset + Dance Mat of some sort would be an entertaining change to normal FPSs

And for a new console? MAX £700 if it worked as ana entire home entertainment system; HiFi, Online gaming, DVD Player, Hard Drive wired up to play moosic over Hi Fi system..

But then again.. it wouldn't be a consol any more, would it?

If it would enhance the gameplay experience, such as using a dance mat in Mega Mix instead of the control pad, then definitely. In fact the only reason why I wouldn't would be in an attempt to obtain a score to unlock something, in which case the control pad may be more easier to get that score with.

Regarding your second question, only if I knew those people well, or I feel the situation would be okay to do so. For example, I wouldn't show myself in a game room where several crazy teenage Americans were present.

On your last question, I would say it all depends on my future income. If I could afford anything, then I would say the absolute maximum for a console would be £400 (if it included loads of features), but a budget approaching normal would mean I would prefer a £150-£200 price point.
