It all started with Toy Story - a clever film that also had adults laughing. Now we've got Shrek - I took my three year old son twice to see it at the cinema and loved it.
In less than a month it'll be out on DVD and like the Phantom Menace it's released at a similar time internationally.
Sadly the UK misses out on the two disc super dooper all singing all dancing version but it's not too bad.
America/Region 1 gets DTS soundtrack as well as 5.1 and they also get wide AND fullscreen versions where we only get widescreen. This also results in them getting a two disc edition whereas we only get the one.
Some of the extras look great though, outtakes, extra scenes, making of, videos and a strange voiceover feature that sounds very interesting.
I know for sure that this will sell tens of thousands of copies in the run up to christmas and I for one will be opting for the Region 1 version (because I can!).
A great film on a good DVD (think it may be done direct from the Digital source like Toy Story and Bug's Life).
Phantom Menace, Shrek, Terminator 2... it's going to be an expensive end to the year!!!
