Why are the prices they offer us so low as I have actally seen a second hand game cost more than what it cost in the shops new (this was an army man game, so now one was going to buy it nw anyway)
I feel that we sould have set rules and regulations in which the dealer has guide lines on how much to give their customers instead of their own guidelines.
I have yet to trade in games but have bought many many second hand games for my DC, and even some hardware too.
All in all it is a good idea and perhaps it looks to you as if they are doubling there money but I can assure you this is not the case, the software market is a tough cookie and I know of shops that have gone under because they have bought too many bad games and not enough good games.
If you dislike trade in deals stick to the net and buy from people like S-R 8o) They have good deals and you have only to do a quick search to find some reviews.
As for guidelines you will find that most shops do have a set that they follow going something like age/condition/resell value, if you ask the shop concerned they should (at least mine does) give you the information on prices they pay etc.. Bear in mind that a set of rules will have to change and be fluid as new games/consoles take the lead, so don't expect to see any rules set in stone.
Another thing that might strike people as strange is the cost of second hand games being nearly the same as the new ones.. This is all down to sales per unit etc.. Something that shop managers do to get people to buy the brand new version for 2 quid more boosting sales for that product.
Rest assured that the second hand copie comes down in price once it's old hat though. 8o)p
Hope this helps, rest assured though some shops do take the mickie.. One here is still trying to sell a games for 29.99 second hand and the new one is only 20 quid.. lol

Chain
