It's by City High, and it's currently top 10, I think.
It goes a little something like this:
"What would you do if your son was a home,
Crying all alone, on the bedroom floor,
'Cos he's hungry,
And the only way to feed him is to
Sleep with a man for a little bit of money?"
Stupid, stupid lyrics are made worse when a 'sample' of Still DRE kicks in, with the singers singing "What would you do?" to it.
Damn this is crap.
Especially when the bloke also starts singing about sleeping with a man for a little bit of money.
Crap, crap, crap, crap, crap, crap, crap.
Crap.
Why's everyone looking at me like that?!! ;-)
How do you know SHE even thinks of them as deep and meaningful?
What constitutes deep and meaningful lyrics anyway? Eminem? Steps? Guns n Roses? Oasis? Limp Bizkit? Dr Dre?
It's all down to personal taste.
I personally prefer trance, as you have very few words and it's all down to the music. Having said that I like a lot of tunes by Yahel. They take samples from films, and tie the music in around that to produce some excellent tracks.
the words mean sod all as they're lifted straight out of a film, but it workd because of the music they put together with it.
If you want, and you're on MSN, I'll send you one of their .mp3s so you can hear for yourself.
>I really don't think she literally means a Castle Sitting On A Cloud.
No, but what I do understand is that she doesn't have a clue of how to write meaningful lyrics. Itís a pile of tosh. If you want symbolism go read some TS Elliot. Hell, I even understand Wasteland (look at me, I'm so clever); point being that the images Elliot draws are poignant, relevant, full bodied and full of meaning. Mrs Van Dahl thinks that is what sheís doing, but really she's spouting a pile of rubbish. It annoys me that many people think of the lyrics as "deep and meaningful" when really they are just vague fillings between some below average, painfully clichÈd Euro beats.
You just love it when she asks you to turn off the light.

Oi! Nelly Furtado is okay, you're just an uncultured oaf. That last song she did was good, and so was the like a bird one too. Go away.
Many lyrics or where the song idea comes from seem not what you expect.
Fake Plastic Treess (Radiohead) - About Canary Wharf GAH
etc :-)

Fair point. You can't actually hear the lyrics in "people properly.
Anyway, I still want to know:
What's wrong with the lyrics is Castles in the Sky?
Don't tell me you're being silly enough to think she actually means Castles in the Sky, are you?
You can read whatever you want into any lyrics for any songs. The Gallagher brothers have said that the lyrics don't really mean much to them, yet some people say "Wow! Those lyrics are so deep and meaningful" etc etc, yet Noel and Liam say "Well, they weren'st supposed to be."
See what I mean?
The "Castle" in th sky, could just be your aims. So she could be singing "Oh tell me why, do we always aim so high?" etc etc, meaning why people always aim for the top.
I really don't think she literally means a Castle Sitting On A Cloud.
Pile of posh
