Capcom to Announce a Secret?

The maker of the Resident Evil franchise may announce a new GameCube project in less than a week.

October 9, 2001

According to popular UK magazine Edge, Capcom Entertainment is set to announce a secret, new GameCube project at the Tokyo Game Show, which begins in Japan later this week.
Reports Edge: "Although the [Biohazard / Resident Evil] press conference took place too late to buoy sales of hardware over the launch weekend [in Japan], it will be followed by another Capcom GameCube announcement at the Tokyo Game Show in Mid-October."

The news come on the heels of word that Shinji Mikami is in the works with an original GameCube project in addition to his Resident Evil contributions to the console.

It is not yet known what mysterious GameCube title the Tokyo Game Show announcement could encapsulate yet, or if it's at all related to Mikami's own efforts.

Just merge for God's sake, first Zelda then Micky Mouse followed shortly by Resident Evil what now????

Street Fighter? MegaMan, Onimusha? Devil May Cry?

Nintendo's relationship with these giants are getting closer!

If Mikami is working on "an original Gamecube project" then it's unlikely to be DMC.

Could be interesting, though!

Oh please let it be another Street Fighter!!!!

I love street fighter and I'm sure that they could do Something else with it. Actually, now that I think about it, perhaps they should just lay that game to rest.

Hmmm.... secret you say? Perhaps Capcom used to be a woman! That'd be a pretty big secret to be hiding!
