Having lived with the album and Kid A enough to know the songs now, I can safely say I like about 5% of the tracks, the rest are self-indulgent pap.
I think OK Computer is an era-defining album, an absolute masterwork.
But this stuff?
*scratches head*
I've heard better music played by spastic infants falling onto keyboards in Dixons.
Thom Yorke - cheer up and sing like you know you can, you feckless whiny gimp.
Honestly, I would kill to be in their position but all he can do is moan and drone about how crap stuff is??
That kid needs a slap and some mates.
Excellent quote from the singer from Coldplay about whether he is fed up with singing "Yellow" yet:
"If the worst part of my day is having to say yellow 8 times, then I'm not even going to start complaining"
THAT is the attitude a person in a succesful band should have.
Appreciate the fact you get to play music for ever Yorke, or I'll come round your house and give you something to moan about, you gimpy chimp.
heh
I can listen to Amnesiac and Kid A, perhaps Kid A more, and I can enjoy them. But I can't love them.
*piano solo starts, explains to Amnesiac that Marvin isn't his child*
OK Computer will be remembered for ever, it's one of those albums. But Kid A (and partly Amnesiac) are at the bottom of my collection.
Along the same line as before, Optomistic was one of the highlights of the live performance. Okay, so maybe it doesn't diserve a whole album surrounding it, but I'm sure theres a few more good 'uns on there. Problem is Amnesiac and Kid A sort of all merge into one album in your head after a while.
And they can still knock off a few that have you pogoing like a mad man.
I agree, I don't like the new album, but he'll get loads of money for it + loads of tour dates...blah, blah.
What music do your band play Goatboy?
