Just noticed on SR's release schedules...

Devil May Cry Official Strategy Guide - released 7th November.

Devil May Cry - the game - released 30th November.

Assuming they are correct... what's the point of releasing the guide 3 weeks before the game?

I try not to use guides at all actually unless I am a)really stuck or b)playing the game for the second/third/fourth time and want to get all the sectert bits

There is no point in buying them, its much better to play the game through yourself, and then magazines write there own which are just as good.

It's happened a number of times before.

The most notable that I remember was the Daikatana Guide which, because the game arrived about 2 years late, was on sale about 4 months before the game!

It's stupid, but one of those things I suppose.

I have to say, I've never bought a strategy guide in my life, nor do I intend to, so it's not a major issue for me.

Certainly bizarre, nonetheless.

Maybe its so you can buy that and then save up for the game, these guids dont come cheap!

there is no point to that they should release them both at the same time why would some one buy the other one first

If you read the strategy guide first there would be no point to buy the game as you have read the guide like a book and it would be a good story.

So that you know what to do when the game arrives?
