sony repair them quite well. or if they cant and you have sony insurance they give you a new one. try asking at a sony centre.

also roughly whats the problem.

As daft as it is, I don't believe Sony Centres deal with PlayStation's. They don't even sell them.

I only know it because I had a lengthy conversation with a gu in my local Sony Centre before the PS2 was released - he was trying desperately to get them to sell PS2's through the Centre's because then he could get his staff discount! :-)

Obviously he was unsuccessful!

I dare say that Sony Centres will sell the new PSX machine when it hits the market, though.
