What I want to know (FantasyMiester at the ready) how difficult will it be to tap the broadband into my room so I can play the PS2 on the cybernet. So, if your not to busy, what will I need? What will it cost me? Is it going to be difficult to set up?
That one you linked to is a USB modem, therefore I personally wouldn't recommend it as it WILL entail a lot of pfaffing about trying to get your PS2 and other PCs in the house up and running with it. Did you miss the post below where I said "get an ethernet modem"? It's for your own good :)
Also, read the GUIDES on uk.playstation.com. Very helpful.

A broadband line carries broadband signals
Check with your ISP if they're willing to split your broadband cable for you when they install it, but normally they only supply the one cable into your home and you have to use a router yourself to split the cable to different PCs/PS2s etc.
My dad is going to put a phone line in my brothers room, he said while he's at it he'll put one in my room. Should I then just buy an external modem and pop it on my desk, then connest the PS2 to it and vuola? Would that work or would I need somethinjg more? In theory it works!
Sure, you need it connected to the net constantly, but it don't cost much, plus it's funny to read what people are saying when I don't reply on msn.
so it's best to use direct networking...so that you ensure that you get the full signal.

It depends on whether you've got a USB modem or ethernet modem.
If ethernet modem the answers are:
You will need:
Linksys BEFSR41 4-port ethernet router
3x 3m lengths of CAT-5 straight through network cable
It will cost:
£77.54
Will it be difficult:
No
If USB modem the answers are:
Dunno
You could hard wire it with cables but depending where the two computers are it could get messy.
Or you could consider a wireless router with access points in each room and have wireless recievers for the computers and then hard wire your PS2 into the access point which would allow you to surf the net and play the PS2 at the same time.
Only problem with the wireless is that its quite expensive and you want to try get the best set up you can so it could cost around £200 or more for all the stuff needed for the wireless option.
