A lot of the more "stereotypical" images are the first to fill my head; the white snow covered streets, the christmas turkey being carried through the dood, decorating the christmas tree, chestnuts roasting on an open fire, etc!
These are the things that most of us will experience year in year out and enjoy immensley.
There's the giving, the recieving, the loving and all that other stuff that makes everyone appreciate the christmas vibe.
However, not all people are alike (as I'm sure you're aware) and thus not everyones christmasses are exactly the same. There are random elements that crop up every year, the things that make you say "remember that christmas when...", and then there are of course the personalized traditions that occur. The things that only your family does or only you and your friends do.
Well, I've been an avid gamer for 12 years or so, possibly longer and there has always been the gaming element to christmas for me.
Christmas has always brought with it new games for me and I'm sure I'm not alone in sitting infront of the newest all morning while someone else bins the wrapping paper and cook my dinner. Hopefully this year will be no different!
But, for the lsat few years (about 5 I think) their has been a tradition born between my friend Dave and I. It's fairly simple really; the day after boxing day we get together, pool our consoles and games (if they differ from one another, which at least the games usually do), stock up on 48 bottles of beer (roughly) and the BIG variety pack of crisps one of our families will have bought for christmas. From then on, we shut ourselves away from the world. We spend the rest of that day playing games, talking crap, and getting drunk infront of a nice warm fire.
I know its not much, but its the same every year and I look forward to it as I do any other part of christmas. I've always regaureded this day as my "gaming christmas" without which my christmas would feel incomplete.
Just out of interest, does anyone else have a specifically gaming side to their own christmas experience???

I know it may seem a bit early to some but for me christmas starts when pubs start inviting you to "Book your christmas dinner NOW!!!"
Also, it was kind of asking about your christmas traditions, so I'll assume you have a bad memory or a traditinless christmas.
> Yeah, and I've won more games too. :D
Yes, 3 more.
And did you give games to GOS hospital?
No, but I would've if I'dve of won during the time that was happening. (And yes I was here, albeit under a different name)
> Did you give Train Simulator to Goatboy? I think not.
No. But I did give a GBA game to my friend.
And did you give games to GOS hospital? Did you give Train Simulator to Goatboy? I think not.
