Would a character driven game be possible?
Rather than the story developing, and you reacting to that, going on to complete quests and the like, what if your actions developed your character, and altered the path of events?
For instance if you acted cowardly in the game, running from battles, not helping people, then you as a character would develop diffeently, and the story would progress from there.
Any thoughts?
I wouldn't mind a game like that, but really, concentrating on the character would only hamper the storyline, and with or without a progressive character game games like that need a storyline.
I suppose RPG's are a good way to describe this... especially if you've played Legend of Mir or seen the video of City of heroes. The player, in a way, reacts to the situations and paths that he/she takes and their personality or position changes accordingly...
It could be done, and it sounds like a fine idea, but it would need to be incorporated in a good game, like MGS2 or Dinosaur Planet and would also require the talents of Rare, Konami or another big-time developer.
Good idea, Meka!
sort of.
I think there's a game for the P.C like that. One of the characters is a cow, another is a cheetah, I think, but I can't remember the games name.
