"Can teachers do that?"

Well as many of you know (or don’t) I quit my work experience because there was nothing there for me to do, just to fold 500 letters and put them into envelopes...
Any way two of my mates quite too on Monday and came in to school, the head teacher said to the first:
"Charlene why are you back"
"Because I didn’t enjoy carrying shoes around all day, I found it boring and I was not learning anything"

"Oh, ok well fair enough ill try and find you something else to do"

Well that was ok, that made me less worried about seeing him.
Then my other mate goes to him and he says
"And you quit work experience because"
"Well there was nothing there for me to do atall, all the people sweared and it was too busy and they just thought it would be best for me to come back to school..."

"Ok, well that is understandable"

Now I was not fearing him atall I thought I would just go in there and get things sorted, but nooo, he had to be different to me...

"Robin, what the hell do you think you are doing quitting work experience?"
"Well folding 500 letters in half and putting them into an envelope is not very educational, I was not enjoying it and there was no room in the office, once I even had to just sit there and watch this lady work on her computer for 2-3 hours"
" I DONT CARE IF YOU DONT LIKE IT, YOU STICK AT IT, DONT YOU THINK I HATE MY JOB SOMETIMES"
"Um yes all the time to be honest"
"WELL WITH PEOPLE LIKE YOU I DO, WHEN YOU ARE OLDER AND YOU CAN’T GET A JOB IM GOING TO COME UP TO YOU AND LAUGH, LAUGH AND POINT"

Hell was that really necessary, I mean why he didn’t do it to the other to people, so the girl a fancy (Charlene Bolton) just started saying what a fool he is, made me feel better...
I just don’t get why he done that to me, I have never really been in any trouble, I guess he is just a sad old man...

Ach, when I left school I realised something, it was a load of cr*p.

I went to college, where I had the chance to learn what I felt was important and usefull and now I'm in a good office job and I'm happy. I'm glad I left school, and as for work experience, it doesn't actually prepare you for the 'real world'.

I wouldn't worry about it Robin.

Poo face 1, El Robin 0. There well. We all just be happy. Just say that you refused to continue your work experiance. It's like quitting just that you object to doing it instead of giving up on it.

1 week ok i could handle...
2 weeks of that no way, but i have been working hard re decorating the classrooms in school...

When I did my work experiance in year 11 I only had to do one week. That was at W.H.Smiths and it wasn't too bad but I found it a little long for my liking.

I should have done another week in year 12 this past February but I had a "bad knee". I wasn't going to work in a council office for a week.

In relpy to the original post. No I don't think teachers are really allowed to talk to students like that. They can have a go at them for quitting but they shouldn't be able to insult them like that.

Yup, all I was doing was printing, folding etc, but I stuck with it for the 3 weeks and got a superb reference.

Robin is a quitter :P

But yes indeed, many people have quite now claiming that they are just being used as slaves, e.g Charlene was working at clarks shoes and they just made her polish the shoes on display and fetch shoes from the basement...
She just told the teacher that she was being used as a skivvy and that it was pointless, dont matter now any way she is in cypruss for the rest of the week...
