I've created a website (my second) and have my user name and password but when I go into file upload and enter both, it comes up with the above error message. I've tried it with my other website which I've uploaded to frequently and it's now coming up with the same error.

I've tried in internet explorer and also Firefox but to no avail. Any ideas please?

Thanks Hmmm, messing them up is a distinct possibility, it's all been a mess of IT today, should have gone to the shops instead! I'll try filezilla and see how I get on, fingers crossed!

Freeola are the experts, but I'll try to answer...

Yes, if you aren't connecting using Freeola as your ISP you will need VIP/Freedom for all of your websites.

I can't see why FTP access to your VIP site would be failing.
I can only guess you have managed to mess up your FTP user/password details.

I can recommend using Filezilla as a free standalone FTP application rather than using a browser based method.

Thanks, that's a fair point but I have VIP hosting for my other website and can't upload to that. Do I have to have VIP hosting separately for each website?

Hmmm... is indeed correct.

I can see that your account is hosted on our Standard servers which are intended for use in conjunction with a Freeola Internet connection.

Hi Kathyo and welcome to the forums.

I take it you are connecting via Freeola Broadband or Dialup?
If not you would need to be using VIP/Freedom hosting.
