If game designers took time over there games then we would have a huge range of blinding games rather than rubbish games flooding the market. For example look at Goldeneye a land mark game because the good people at Rare wanted it to be good whereas the army men will never be that good due to the producers of them just wanted your money not for you to have a decent game.

This is no doubt one of the reasons people turn to piracy- after buying a few bad games for an extortionate price, thus leaving you feeling cheated, you just go and get a copy instead.
Far better would be for publishers to work more closely with developers, maybe even having some kind of regular quality control checks. If it appears that the game is going in the wrong direction, then the developer can fix the problem.
One of the problem in the industry today is that deadlines are too tight. You've got to hot Christmas, or you're done for. So it's a case of releasing a bad game that will make some sales, or no game at all... something that publishers cannot do with.Logan
