Are games getting any better? Yes or no, are developers getting to mixed up in the graphics rather on the things that make games good games. Take Getaway as an example, the graphics look great but is the game play going to be any good, did the producer get so engaged with making the graphics look top notch that he/she forgot the game play qulaties.This worries me as this has aready happed with The Bouncer, the graphics were good and every body was going mad untill they actually played it and realised how bad it was.
Think of GTA for the playstation, the graphics were bad and it was all played from birds eye view but did any one care? No they didnt, they were played it because of the gameplay and there are many other games that looked bad but were infact great and I hope that the producers realise this and focus there efferts not on just the graphics but also the gameplay!
Ever heard of 'never judge a book by its cover' the same goes for a game.

For the last few years, games have not been getting better. There have, of course, been some stunners, but most are just sequals, or unoriginal games with better graphics than what came before.
Things were set to change when the PS2 came out, but unfortunately lack of development time meant that the first batch of games were just quick fixes to fill time (NAmco wanted to make Tekken 4, but didn't have enough time, so filled in with TTT).
Anyway, things are changing. PS2 developers have finally started to release the revolutionary games promised, and with the introduction of Microsoft and Nintendo back into the mass market scene, the games published will have to be good enough to attract customers in the greater market.
Thank God for console wars!

There are many idiots out there that just look for one thing in a game eg graphics but what's the point of have brilliant graphics when you can't do much else, so I say look beyond the screen shots and play the game before judging it unless of course it's army men.

How do Sony try to make people buy a PS2... well, it has to be better than a PSX obviously! And the only way to "prove" to people that it is better, is by showing better graphics...

U noticed that all the good PS2 games are only coming now?...kinda close to the Gamecube and x-box launches. what would the situation be if Gamecube and x-box wernt coming out for another year? would we still be getting 2nd rate games for the PS2?
