I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if it is possible to clear old saved games off memory cards, i.e. ones that you don't want anymore, to give room for saving new games ?

(Without a disc in)

On a PS2, go into the browser then press X on the memory card then delete the files from there.

On a PS1 go into the memory card options and do the same thing.

Let them soak in vinegar for 22 hours, usually does the trick!
