you might play games for a bit of relaxation, or maybe you like the challenge. Some of you are skaters and like to practice big air stunts with your Idols in hot 3D environments!
so heres the question, why do you play games?
Don't get me wrong I still do alot of sport but I live by Computer games and always will! He walks off chanting Ninty Ninty Ninty!
I wish that one day, a game will arrive which will do something so amazing that it

That would be a nice idea, but it would more than likely be banned from our shores, or never get that close, the PS2 was nearly banned from somewhere for being too advanced! ooh, game players will rule the world.
When the American incident first happened games were blamed e.g. MS flight sims, I don't see how, the maps aren't accurate and a joystick and keyboard hardly account for the 100+ buttons and controls in a Boeing aircraft.
A game so revolutionary it will get Tony Blair out of his seat? A very nice dream.
> escape from reality....
and enter the Matrix!
However, I think there's more to it than that. When multiplaying, there's obviously the elements of comradeship and/or rivalry, which is always healthy.
But I live in the hope that one day a game will turn up that will simultaneously gain massive public recognition AND cause people to regard it as a piece worthy of study. I wish that one day, a game will arrive which will do something so amazing that it makes respected figures stand up and say "this really means something", and bring in a new era of gaming in which developers begin to explore philosophical ideas or moral ideologies within their games.
That might sound like a pretty pathetic reason to follow the path of the gaming industry, but the truly annoying part is that I KNOW games have it in them. I'm just waiting for everyone else to realise it.

Championship manager is a prime example of this. I think of this game as a sort of "2nd life" for me. On the box it says, "this is the most important game of your life." They wernt kidding. I can spend hours on this game without even playing an actual game. Searching for the right players and staff can take ages. I like to make everything "perfect", so i spend hours searching for only the best players at the lowest prices. I'm trying to build my bank balance as high as possible by doing this, so far i have £700 million...
