I've been banned from their message system thingy because I had the audacity to suggest that Nintendo were doing crap and it's their own fault.

I think Tribute misses the 'big picture' here, and that is that gaming is only the start of a new entertainment revolution that Sony and Microsoft are fighting to lead. Nintendo are sticking with games, but the next generation of consoles will do more than games and dvds, already we're seeing this with Eyetoy - whihc has video conferencing applications, Xbox Music Maker, and so on, as is the PSX. They know that there is no way they can get most people to dump a pc in the living room, but a console ? less of a problem, the next wave of consoles it about getting hardware into people's homes that is expandable and can be used for other applications.

That's why MS are in it, and why Sony are in it. Once, long ago, it was why Nintendo was in it, now they concentrate on games.

I remember that the kind of criticism MS have is similar to that at the beginning of the Playstation's life.

I just don't like the x-box because I know that Micrsoft won't keep supporting it when gaming becomes unpopular again, and isn't a much of a cash cow. Sony might do the same, but I doubt it. I think Microsoft are only in the games market because of its popularity, and shall be out of there quicker than you can say 'Aha! it really just WAS a PC!' when it goes back to i's late 80's/early 90's state...

Unfortunately for Nintendo, Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office are considerably more successful than the Game Boy Advance :O(

All 3 consoles have hit below targets, the only console to exceed expectations is the Gameboy Advance and this has counter-acted the dissapointing Gamecube sales.

It works like the John Lewis partnership... John Lewis is struggling but Waitrose is booming and so it easily makes up for John Lewis' underperforming...
