Pimp your Penguin
The link to get there was on amazon.

I've not seen the film, but I understand it's your typical toddler animated kids movie.

And people are ramming 'pimp' culture down their throats.

Can we not allow 7 year olds to have a childhood, without using adult references to selling women for sex to sell them junk?

Am I a retarded old-timer? I think it's an acceptable objection. It may be an indirect reference, but we (as a society) are exposing the youngest children who can use computers (if films about dancing penguins are their lure, I think that's a fair assessment) to the language of prostitution. We're using the phrase 'pimp' as a high-status, 'cool' concept. Something for these toddlers to look up to, to aspire to.

I'm beginning to accept the Bill Hicks idea, "If you're in marketing... kill yourself."

Some unicef survey recently found that children in the UK have the lowest quality of life of any in the developed world.

And when we offer them no protection from people who'll infect their innocence for a quick buck, we're as responsible as the vultures are.

Am I just out of touch? I know people have been complaining about immorality in society for as long as we've had interfering biggots (I really hope that's not what I've become!), but this is aimed almost exclusively at primary school children.

Are they allowed any childhood at all?

Or have we sold it from underneath them?
