Stupid, lying A&R toeheads.
"The cd was fantastic and we came to the last gig you did"
"Yeah, which one was that?"
"Er...the last place you played"
"And that was?"
"...anyway, it was really cool."
"You didnt even come to see us."
I am so sick of faceless little men in suits that decide the fate of bands.
If they knew anything about music, they'd be out doing it instead of watching other people do it.
Damn their arrogant, failed musician lives.
"Well I tried a band but we didnt get anywhere, now I will take out my bitterness on other people trying to do what I couldn't"
Idiots.
The number of times we have been lied to and promised things by A&R companies...we've stopped listening to them now.
Another phone call of "We got the CD and we like it, we're just not sure we can commit to another band right now".
Why not just have the balls to say "look, it's not our thing" instead of lying and stringing people along.
People, being a band is good fun, but the moment it starts to turn into business and people get involved that are interested in the money only?
It gets testing, infuriating, patience-wearing and you want to put them all in a room and blast it into space.
Damn these people, show some soul.
People that like having power over people.
Ah well you'll get there and go do-lallie
;-)
