Have you ever thought about what happens when you die? Itís not the most lively thing to discuss, and itís hardly the nicest thing to talk about at a family meal, but I am sure youíve thought sometimes, what happens next? The thing is, we just donít know do we. After life comes death, but that may not be as depressing as it sounds? Your religion may determine you beliefs about ëthe afterlifeí, and you may just have your own thoughts and feelings, completely different to anyone else about what will happen.

Itís not something you should really worry about though, whatever happens, will eventually happen ñ if there is one thing in life that we can be sure will happen, is that it will end. So make the most of what you have, itís very precious, itís yours - love your life, live you life and respect it while you can. Life after Death, an interesting and debatable subject to discuss, some religions have the belief of reincarnation, where you come back as a different person, maybe an animal when you body dies. Maybe your soul will live forever?

Who knows if there is a heaven? If you believe in heaven then maybe you will go there when you die, if your belief results in you living you life in a better way in order to get there, I agree completely with it. What will everything look like? Will it look like anything at all? Some aspects of life and death, life after death one can simply not comprehend, but thatís a good thing. If you knew for certain what would happen when you died, and it seemed like a really great place, then you might just try to kill yourself in order to get there early. Live life now, this is when it happens.

Worry about death when you get there. Naturally, be healthy happy and donít torment others, donít be tormented yourself. Do you ever find yourself staring at the stars, or just thinking about how life started, why it started and why youíre living now ñ not wondering about how you were created, just in general ñ how life began, why it did and when and how it might continue. Thereís a certain amount of magic, of wonder and awe that brings about the inability to comprehend.

Life After Death, hmmm ñ this is trickier to talk about than I first thought, we will always question what will happen, there will always be answers to help us understand, but there will never be fact, no one knows what happens, after all, no oneís died and come back to tell us what happened, or have they? Have you seen some programs, something like ëstrange but trueí, where they have a feature on someone who believes they used to be someone else in a previous life, they can remember what happened through the use of hypnotism, the details some people remember, unless itís just fraud, but itís strange. I donít know whether these are genuine, but it puts a spin on things.

The ghost aspect: are there such things as ghosts? I am sceptical, but there have been so many reports of ghosts, so many accounts and programs about them, even films about them, so there probably are something like ghosts ñ but not in a form that they can hurt you, so you neednít be worried by them, although you would be scared if you saw one, most probably. Spirits and all sorts, ghosts and lost souls. Itís all very interesting to me, but nothing is concluded. Maybe ghosts are just projections of the past, like a recording? I donít knowÖ

I hope everyone lives a healthy and prosperous, happy life, and that when your ëtimeí finally comes to an end, that whatever you want to happen does happen, as long as itís not nasty! This has been an odd topic for me to write about, please have your say, what do you think about life after death?

Thanks for reading

The thought of a heaven is too hard for me to beleive, but i havnt totally dismissed it. SOmetimes i just think about it for a few minutes, and wonder what are we doing here?

I can never work any of it out...I suppose the hardest question is "what are we doing here?"

Despite being brought up into the roman catholic church, (went to a catholic primary school too) I was never really convinced by the concept of heaven.

Instead, I used to spend hours pondering the other possibilities - reincarnation, 'being a ghost', some form of heaven, 'nothing', the idea that maybe life was just some kind of 'game' I was plugged into, and many more.

As I grew older, and learnt more about the world around me, I tended towards a more scientific view.

In other words, I think I'm an atheist. I sort of believe that death is the end, but I'm not too sure. It seems the most sensible of all the possibilities, that's all.

At what point would the primordial slime we evolved from start having a 'heaven', or reincarnation? Why should they at all? You can't draw a line.. it doesn't make sense, which led me to believe we're no different.

What happens when you die?

Exactly the same as what happened to you in the millions of years before you existed. Nothing.

But I haven't convinced myself yet. There is too much paranormality in the world. Things which are impossible, yet they happen.

Hope springs eternal.

I don't know what happens after this life ends, so I'll make the most of it. Good post, interesting thoughts.
