OK heres the deal we all know the Japanese are the Kings of videogames, unfortunately I cant read Japanese let alone speak it! This means all the latest news in the gaming world usually passes us by.
The challenge here is to surf Japanese websites and try and track down interesting news, it can be funny or informative.
Heres one story I found on Segas japanese website

Ah finally Sonys Japanese website has opened up it secrets at:

You can see pictures of the PS2 modem, and 40GB hard drive add ons which looks pretty sweet. Theres also a official PS2 USB keyboard which looks nice too, black is a good colour. It'll mean that the keyboard wont look as dirty after 5 years of use!
Sony also seem to have produced a official flatscreen TV addon with speakers for the PSOne, view:

Sony also seem to be selling WanderSwan color handhelds with a FinalFantasy game at

The little PSOne portable add on is also on the same list. I guess we can only speculate at how many of the above items will hit our shores in the next 12 months but its interesting!
