How do I stop windows asking for a username when I start up? I've deleted all the users, and it still appears.

Go in to your network settings (START, Settings, Control Panel, Network). The top line in the list box will usually be Client for Microsoft Networks. Properties this and change it to Quick Logon. Also if you've got file print sharing, disable it. Try each one in order and re-boot between. If all this fails (and if you really understand what's going on) try and remove any protocol drivers that you don't need (e.g. netbios)- probably only there if you've been running the PC on a network - be careful though....don't remove modem stuff if that's how you connect to the net (especially TCP/IP). Good luck! e&oe.

I rung microsoft, and the reply I got was:

"Upgrade to windows 2001 second edition! I has so many more incomplete features. Even better, it has less bugs than previous versions of windows(1)"

(1): "Less" is a completely generic term, and has no meaning.
