I went into cex and they had a Gamecube running. There wasn't anyone playing when I went but when I left there were about 15-20 people crowding the 50 inch TV.

I played Monkey Ball which seems to be well underated. This game is seriously addictive and for the 6 or so levels I played I would say this game is a definite hit. I takes about the time of 1 level to get used to the controls which are very simple but it's quite difficult to control the board first time.
You control the board the monkey rolls on in his board. You tilt it so that the monkey can move in the direction you want and you need to get to the goal via a variety of obstacles. There are often tight lanes to get through. The graphics look amazing especially on a 50 inch screen, the reflections and the monkey in the ball all look proper next-gen, the speed of the game is very fast and adds to the gameplay. There are also steep slopes in some of the levels which make the monkey go extremely fast.

I have to say though I've only played about ten minutes of this game it is a definite must have for any Gamecube buyer.

I also played one lap of Wave race which looked a lot better than the N64 version but played almost the same. I couldn't get hold of the controls that well but from what I saw the water looks amazing.

I didn't get a chance to play Luigi's mansion because the guy said it's not a game I could play for five minutes whilst people were waiting.

The controller was everything I expected it would be. Comfortable and perfect. Though the green button (the small one of the left) is a bit awkward, as is the z-button.

Apoligies for the poor grammer and for rambling on a bit.

Monkey Ball is definately the first game I'm going to get.

Did the shops have the fourplayer mode on display to try out?
