"Expansion pack question..."

I want to buy Neverwinter Nights for the PC but it's my first ever PC game and don't know if it is possible just to buy the expansion pack and load that up if you don't have the original to expand upon? Can anyone tell me if I need the original to get the sequal expansion pack?

Expansion packs usually don't have enough in them to be original, full blown sequels. They are primarily designed to enhance and prolong whatever game they have been made for, addind a few extras a long the way.

They also don't take as long to develop than sequels, and are cheaper than full priced games as well.

Ohhh why do you need the original...they should just make it like a sequal that can be integrated into the original if you have it so you can still play it even if you don't have the original.

Heh, I rember when I was new to PC gaming I didn't realise you need original games to play expansion packs. Luckily I found out before I bought anything.

Of course you need the original.

You can't expand what you haven't got.
