Ok, the local town near me that provides my telephone code eg. (01530) is very close to reaching its broadband quota. Now I live in a tiny village about a mile and a half away, will we be upgraded as well, or is it just the specific town and not all the places it covers with its telephone exchange?
Any info?
Cheers

however on the BT website I have just read that broadband can be offered to rural areas within 2.5 m of the phone exchange. To me this would sugggest a possibility of connection!

The best thing to do, IMO, is to wait until the place near you is definitely activated for Broadban. In the mean time have a look around and decided who you want to sign up with, what with the UK economy making like the Titanic and increased Broadband competition now is a good time to shop around.

When you decided, and once you know this other place is activated, check your phone number on the checker all broadband ISP's have that idicates if broadband is possible, Freeola has one at http://c64.reserve.co.uk/freeola/ broadband/signup/broadband_signup_1.php

(Remove the space by 'broadband')

This way you'll actually know yourself rather than using third part info which could mean you get disappointed.

It's well worth it for Live and PC internet browsing is miles better even if you're not downloading tons of stuff.
