"The Web-based application will tie directly into Xbox Live.
Microsoft has announced that Live Web will be available on August 25. The Web-based feature will let users monitor different facets of Xbox Live through a Web page. Users will be able to view their friends list to see which friends are playing online, and they will also be able to view stats and scoreboards. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon will be one of the first games to support the feature, allowing users to view their ranking through the Web. Microsoft said it plans to also hold a number of special events through Live Web.
In addition, Microsoft has revealed that those who purchase NFL Fever 2004--and Xbox Live games released after it--will be offered two free months of Xbox Live service."

Hmmm.
I think this "web feature" is ON the xbox - Microsoft are making a web type application to be used ON the Xbox so you can see everything in webpage format.
Or I might be wrong.

I agree. I'm sick and tired of having to boot up the XBox or turn off the music I'm playing on it whenever I want to check if anyone's online.
As a PC owner I think the idea of accessing the information on a website as well gives you a chance to see who is online on live without booting up your Xbox is a great idea. Plus you can show a lot more information ona website then you could on Lvie! itself as the text has to be much larger on the Xbox Live! dashboard so you can easily read it.
Thumbs up Microsoft!
But would this "Live Web" thing be of any use? I dunno - I don't have Live.
We'll have to wait n see.
Might be worth buying some crappy hockey game to get two free months...then I could take it back of course.
