Sega USED to be 10 departments... AM1,2,3,R&D4,5,6,7,8,9,10 (or is it just to 9?)
Anyway, Sega has made these more independant, and as such they picked their own names... except for Am2... who are still called Am2!
Now each of these are still owned by Sega, but are free to chose their opwn platform to develop for, and their own games to make...
BTW, each of these is bigger than a whole development company! Which will probably make sega the 2nd biggest publisher of games (after ninty) in the next 2 years (although many of ninty published games are not actually mad ein house!)

Sonic Team (makers of Sonic, Phantasy Star and NiGHTS) are exclusively working for the Gamecube.
Yu Suzuki's team AM2 (Shenmue and Virtua Fighter) are making games for all formats.
And then there's some like Amusement Vision who are making games like Monkey Ball for Gamecube and Space Channel 5 for Xbox.
I don't know why.

Nintendo and Sega should forge a full partnership which would stop Sega making games for other consoles and thus amass Nintendos world wide appeal!

Well the PS2 is good (Digitiser does violently over exadurate!), but I'm certain that the Gamecube will be more exciting, although it is down to personal tastes...
