Is it me or are games getting shorter and magazines are not bothered as the general story is good

There are 2 primary examples

Shadow of Memories

Zone of Enders

Take for example SOM The storyline is captivating and sometimes darn right spooky but it just feels disjointed and TOO SHORT

The graphics are good IN THE CUT SCENES THATS ALL

Zone of Enders Good emotional story but when u finish it it doesn't feel finished more like a quarter finished there has to be more games of it

Shenmue is also another one that is disjointed yet the story line keeps u playing I feel developers are trying to follow in shenmues footsteps as shenmue was a success

Thank you for your time :)

Shadow of memories was well short, They should have scrapped the 6 endings and made it longer :-(

Red Faction is a worthy length, I thought it was gona finish in the cave with them aliens but it just went on and on and on and on and you get the idea.

I hope Metal Gear Solid 2 is a good 20+ hours :-)

Yeah, Smuggs run is a cool game that really took a while to finish, then when i did i was still hooked on the Multiplayer sections and Minigames.

Yeah games are getting shorter but thats the way it is, if they were long, they would take longer to finish and many gamers would get soon bored. I think the only company who have really got the skill for long games are Squaresoft with Final fantasy. However sports games do have long platability, ISS is a prime example as i have played this practicly ever day since it was released.

As for magazines, it depends on whci you read to what information you get. I personaly feel that the storyline has to be good, but there has to be a big enough chalange for me to enjoy the game. I have recently got the new Resident Evil and i am really enjoying it as it has both a good plot and length, where as ZOE had a good plot and gameplay, but was far too short and was obviously made like that for the sequal, which is obviously a matter of money, but thats a different subject.

No, I dont think that games are getting shorter. There are still loads of games out there that will last you ages and there are more on the way. Zone of The Enders is short but if it would be longer, dont you think that it would get a tad repetitive?? Because of game's style, people could get really bored really easily fighting robots and blasting things.
ZOE isnt really a type of a game you would expect to last long now is it??
Anyway I hope that RPG and Adventure games on PS2 will be lengthy and exciting to play
