(7444 is for the PAL PS2, it might vary from territory to territory. If it doesn't work, ring the Sony helpline, they should be able to give you the correct number if this one doesn't work).

When the password is requested, enter the number 7444, this deletes any password that existed before.

Which is kinda silly if your kids can read a PS2 manual...
