It was the Someoneorother Show, Armando someon, or something similar.
What did you think of it, funny, or trying hard to be shocking and to offend?
It's a combination of sketches and the bloke chatting away about stuff. This weeks theme was the passing of time, and growing old.
One particular sketch was at a 20 year reunion of a stabbing. The 4 victims were there, as were the 4 attackers, plus 2 blokes that raped one of the attackers in the shower. They were all standing around, chatting away like old friends, making jokes about the past, and what happened, like the rapist offering his victim a suasage.....
So, did anyone else watch, and what did you think?
Still beats most of the "comedy" shows out there.
> Its Armindo Inuchi actually, get your factualities right before you sprite.
LOL
Corleone you muppet, it's Armando Ianucci.
*clutches sides and almost chokes*
Classic...I love you.
My two faovourite moments:
1. Jesus comes back to earth, walks into a modern office foyer and offers to cure everyone. A sceptical crowed gathers and walks forward with a series of petty ailments. I injured my knee playing tennis. You're cured. I've got really bad split ends. You're cured. I've got this nigglt hang nail. You're cured. Jesus, sorry to bother you but I've got ME and recently I've been getting worse and worse. Oh well, we all get tired.
2. Voiceover talks about discontent in heaven. Cut to shot of heaven. It is a cloud piled with mangled corpses, not moving but you can hear their thoughts. That's why I love the show. It's so obvious, heaven would be full of dead people but only Armando Iannuci would interpret it this literally! The sketch ends up happily with a full song and dance number. The corpses are arranged in patterns then using a slow stop frame animation are made to dance, or filmed gracefully falling over. The greatest moment comes when it cuts to the syncronised swimming segment of the dance. Cut to a swimming pool, bubbles rise to the surface and on cue with the music, six bodies float up from the bottom of the pool and happily bob along to the finale of the music.
His is generally a more gentle and introspective kind of genius for comedy than Chris Morris, but I'd still recommend it.
But I find he lacks the serious edge of Morris.
He's still pretty good, but without the awesome use of language etc, he comes off as a child swearing at his parents.
Still worth watching, just doesn't compare to Morris
I wanted to watch it.
He used to have a really good show on C4 a couple of yars ago, but I can't remember what it was called. He did it with two other blokes. A tall skinny bloke, and a shorter, plumper bloke.
I think he's hilarious, but I haven't managed to see any of this new series.
:-(
