If GT3 was the "Ultimate Driving Simulator", how come there was no clutch? There should be one in GT4. Oh, and with driving lessons on real, traffic filled roads. And pedestrians. Then it'll be THE driving simulator. And I could also pass my test without lessons.

Aye. I thought i'd never get used to it when i first started learning but now its like 2nd nature.

I'd hate to drive a automatic now to be honest as you lose that little bit of acceleration and i just love thrasing the hell out of a car in 2nd gear :) Especially in my dads company car, as he gets a new one every few months anyway!

I'm guessing that was a joke, but for anyone who doesn't know, passing a driving test has very little to do with your driving, just what you do whilst you're driving. Simply turning the car round corners is easy. The examiners are all looking to make sure that you check your mirror at the right moments, indicate at the right time, keep your attention in the right places, notice the right things, accelerate and brake appropriately, stick to the speed limits etc... all the things you don't notice in a game, especially one based around speed.

Though the option to switch between the two is pretty rare, I'm sure it exists, but then, once you've made your decision to go with a manual or automatic car, why would you want to swap? I don't even notice the gears when I'm driving, I just feel my arm moving as I listen to the engine, nothing more. All drivers are probably the same, it becomes a natural thing that you just don't notice.

Yeah, there should be the option of turning the clutch on or off (shame you can't do that in real cars), but it's a great idea especially if there was a steering wheel-3 foot pedal accessory to accompany it.

the closest thing i can get to driving is trundling around a track on TOCA race driver (PC) with a sterring wheel and pedals, going at seriously low revs....

it's enjoyable.

Well for me until they put in damage, which i've heard is again not included then it's always going to be the Almost real driving simulator

I wouldnt like the idea. Having to press another button just to be able to use the clutch? Sounds rather stupid to me, and makes the changing of gears even harder than it should be. I see it being too thumbly for the pad, having to remember to press the clutch button and so on.

On the other hand, maybe its a smart idea to use on the Steering Wheels you can buy for the PS2, then it might work, but i really dont think much of it being used with the pad.

And as for having driving lessons on the game...who wants to do that once they have passed? I dont...

good point, a button for the clutch would be great (as long as you could switch it on or off as you wished)
