Why would you want to drop it? You need to use it, if you not going to blow up the cars then don't pick it up.
Which level are you on? What objectives do you have to complete? We can't exactly help you if you don't tell us the specifics.
I'm assuming this is Tubeway Torpedo.......maybe.....?
i'm trying to blast my way out of the basement, but the mini bomb keeps going off without using the remote

Still not told us which level your on, but I think I have a fair idea. It's the one where you have to rescue that guy from the underground basement from that Russian general you have to kill right? if it is, then I'm afraid I don't have an answer to your problem.
The bomb never went off when I put straight down so I'd say it's likely you just have a bug. Probably a patch you can download that can fix it, that might be your best bet unless you want to cheat.
