It seems today that every single game needs to be like grand theft auto.
The gta series had made such a huge contrabution to gaming it seems that every other game is become more "FREE". For example Spiderman 2 will be out soon and in that version you can actually go on city ground an fight. Tony hawks underground is now involved in driving when you play in story mode. Rumer is that a new gta will hit the stores, and the new game True crime is much like gta 3. Is all this realy nessasary? are we missing out on other games such as party game?

I noticed that the next gen consoles allowed developers to create better outside areas, I think the 'freedom element' is a natural progression in the development of games brought about by the power of the next-gen consoles.
