I was wondering how many mobile phones actually have like a proper web device? I mean my old phones had internet acces to a certain degree but it was no where near like what I got on my computer. Does anyone know of any mobiles which give you near enough the same level of internet access as your home computer?
But that is expensive. So far I would have paid out about £80 on this net session alone using my phone as a modem.
GPRS rocks, when you can connect to a laptop and get internet access at £2-4 a megabyte, which ain't terrible.
You won't get anything like this on it. To get internet like this would require an HTML browser. Bear in mind most web pages are several Kb in size it would end up bein so slow.
WAP over GSM i.e. normal phone call only gives around 9Kbps. GPRS gives much faster, about 44Kbps. But it works out expensive.

Hmm arg, I am getting the new Nokia N-Gage mobile phone and it has a colour screen and internet access although I'm not sure how good it'll be considering it's also got a radio, mp3 player, games console thing in it too.
In a word, no.
Perhaps a 3G phone may be able to give you that, but there is no chance of that happening on WAP. However WAP is getting better, I have a Samsung V200 which has a colour screen etc and it is passable.
But full scale internet would use up to much bandwidth.
