Also the PS2 has a much larger fan base then the Xbox so there's another advantage that Sony will have over the Xbox plus the fact you don't have to pay a fee to use Sony's service.
You forgot about GTA 4 by the way.
I

I don't think this will ever happen.
Mainly because of the shear amount of games coming out for Xbox Live and also the power of Xbox. I've spoken to so many people on Xbox Live who own Ps2's but haven't touched them since they bought an Xbox.
Now that GTA has been announced for Xbox I see Sony's userbase slowly decreasing. Nothing Sony can do will compete with Xbox Live, I've seen the release list's for both consoles and sorry to say this, Xbox Live punts Sony's online plans smack bang in the face.
Sure there's a £30 subscription fee, but you have to pay for a modem and headset for ya PS2 so at the end of the day it's pretty much the same price.
Xbox Live is far superior, there's no question.
Hopefully by that time, both formats will have enough games to keep both their respective user-bases loyal. Which would be nice for everyone except maybe Nintendo.
At present, there aren't enough of us online. SOCOM regularly gets over 1500 players at peak times, and there's always someone playing it, but the other games are suffering a bit. They'll suffer even more because there's so many online titles for the PS2 getting released over the next 4 months.
Blame British Telecom. And XBox getting there first.
