Because the power supply is external I figure it would be no problem to use a UK adapter on a Japanese cube. Can anyone verify this? And if so, does anyone know where you can buy a seperate power supply?

I could buy another stepdown (need one with a two-pin socket) but I think it would be more convenient if I could do it this way.

Good for him. My import consoles work fine too, and I know they're not going to melt.

My Panasonic Q works fine at my brothers flat in Barnes. No problem.

Yeah that would be a sure way to blow up my console. You need to do more than just make the plug fit, you need to adjust the voltage as well. I've already lost one PS2 power supply to a cheap stepdown transformer, I won't make the same mistake again.

Deh!

Just get a WorldWide adaptor (just like a travel one).

They are cheap and work. Whats with your buying of something expensive?!

I asked in my local import shop and apparently the only company to make seperate power supplies went bust. Instead I got myself a huuuuge 300W stepdown with four 2-pin sockets, so now I only need one socket for my Japanese PS2, Gamecube and Dreamcast. Wasn't cheap though.

Sounds OK to use a UK one (in theory) post this question on the forum at www.ntsc-uk.com, lots of import gamers on there, they'll know.
